Chang Hyeon Park

Chang Hyeon [창현] Joshua Park is a scientist and artist based in Chicago, Illinois.

With a background in Geophysical Sciences and Environmental Science from the University of Chicago, Joshua explores the intersection of climate science, urban sustainability, and visual arts, blending technical research with creative expression to address environmental challenges.

Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Joshua’s deep connection to nature was shaped by his proximity to the Han River, the coasts of Jeju Island, and Lake Michigan. This environment sparked his curiosity about the delicate balance between human activity and the natural world. From studying geological records through rock thin sections and fossils, to exploring how man-made infrastructure shapes urban memory during his time in Paris, Joshua’s diverse experiences have furthered his commitment to sustainable solutions and understanding how the past informs the future of our planet.
